Back And Better Than Ever
Updates, Spotlights, & Upcoming
Hey all. Been a while since our last newsletter. I wanted to take the chance to spotlight a few events and shoutout what’s coming up in the future!
First things first, shoutout to our co-host of the pod, Carson O’Connor, for his first hole in one. He got his hole in one at SLO Country Club, hole 3. 198 to a back pin, he took a smooth 7 iron for a one hop dunk. Absolutely incredible. Hear all about it on the newest episode of the pod released today (9/26).

Carson O’Connor after his hole in 1
Over Labor Day weekend, I got the chance to play a few of the courses we have spotlighted in this newsletter. I took a golf trip up to Whistler in BC and played 4 courses. Furry Creek, Big Sky, Nick North, and Whistler Golf Club. The weather was prime, and the courses were pristine. You really cannot beat mountain golf in the summer…
Furry Creek Hole 3
Furry Creek - This course is the home to the famous fight scene in Happy Gilmore with Bob Barker. Surreal views and narrow fairways. Very easy to lose a few balls if you aren’t swinging well.
Big Sky Golf Club Mt Currie
Big Sky - You may have seen this course on your social media feed a few times. The backdrops to the tee shots were insane. @Macbouchergolf plays here often and gives us cool insights to the course.

Nicklaus North 17th Green and 18 fairway
Nick North is probably my favorite course in the world. You get a lot of challenging shots each hole to make it so no matter how many times you play the course it never gets old. Plus, you have some pretty cool views on the course!
Brogan ‘Big Red’ Pietrocini on the Tee at Whistler GC
Whistler Golf Club is a challenging yet super fun course right outside the village. You get frequent visits from the wildlife, and cool views throughout.
With the golf season winding down, what’s next?
We got the Presidents Cup this weekend. The schedule is similar to any PGA event with the Thursday through Sunday format. The format is as follows:
Thursday - four-Ball
Friday - foursomes
Saturday - four-ball & foursomes
Sunday - Singles
The competition is hosted at Royal Montreal in Quebec Canada. The US team is heavily favorited and looking to defend the trophy. You can watch this on the golf channel, Fubo, or NBC (Saturday & Sunday). I recommend getting a 7-day free trial to Fubo, just don’t forget to cancel it…
Excited to be back after a long break. Moving forward, you can expect newsletters around once a week. With golf season ending, we will feature some cool trips to spark your interest in getting out with your buddies. Let us know if you take a golf trip this fall and tag us @randomgolfcourses.
