The Celebrity Golf Course in Tahoe You Can Actually Play

Every summer, the American Century Championship brings athletes, actors, and thousands of fans together at one of the most entertaining events in golf—and it all goes down at Edgewood Tahoe Golf Course.

Here’s the best part: this course is public, and you can play it. Seriously.

It’s also located in South Lake Tahoe, which might be the coolest summer golf destination in the country (Mountain golf is our favorite—and yes, the ball flies further). Between the course, the casinos, and the lake, it’s basically the ultimate golf trip spot.

Let’s break it down.

The Course: Edgewood Tahoe

  • Location: Stateline, NV (South Lake Tahoe)

  • Par: 72

  • Yardage: 7,529 yards from the tips

  • Designer: George Fazio (1970)

  • Green Fee: ~$275–$325 (depending on time of year)

  • Book: https://edgewoodtahoe.com

Elite conditions. Incredible setting. And if you’re lucky, you’ll play it with boats floating just off the shoreline on 17. Book early—summer dates fill fast.

Holes You’ll Remember

  • Hole 7: The moment. In 2023, Steph Curry aced it during the tournament and went absolutely ballistic—arms up, full sprint, crowd going nuts. Short par 3, tons of drama.

  • Hole 17: Beachside par 3 with boats anchored up. Fans partying on the shore, music playing—it’s a golf hole and a vibe.

  • Hole 18: Finishing par 5 right along the water and clubhouse. It’s where the ACC comes down to the wire every year.

  • Hole 3: Long, narrow, and shaded—classic Tahoe forest golf. Early test.

What to Do in the Area

This is South Lake Tahoe, and there’s no shortage of off-course fun:

  • Casinos – Hit the tables post-round, win your green fee back.

  • Heavenly Village – Gondola rides, bars, food, shops. Chill with a view.

  • Beaches – Zephyr Cove and Lakeside Beach are perfect for kicking back.

  • Boat or Jet Ski Rentals – If you’re here during the tournament, you can literally watch the action from the water.

How to Watch

The American Century Championship airs on Golf Channel and NBC.
Coverage usually runs Friday–Sunday. If you haven’t watched it before, it’s a must. You’ll see long drives, hilarious trash talk, and guys like Mahomes, Romo, Barkley, and Steph lighting it up (or blowing up).

Summary

Edgewood Tahoe isn’t just TV eye candy—it’s a course you can actually play. Combine that with summer in Tahoe—mountain air, boats on the lake, casinos at night—and you’ve got a trip that hits different.
